TRADE
MARKS: To protect the integrity of the jewellery industry,
it is required that quality marks on jewellery to identify its precious
metal content can only be used
when accompanied by a Trade Mark officially registered with
Industry Canada. Pepe

MARKS: Quality marks recognize standards of purity for
precious metals as follows:

RECYCLING
YOUR OLD GOLD: Pepe & Maureen Ltd. does not purchase
or credit customers' old gold jewellery. However, if anyone would
like to use their old gold jewellery for use in the production of
a custom order…please arrange an appointment to visit the studio
in Elora….and speak to Pepe.
Such recycling is only offered for scrap gold, not silver
or platinum.
 If
your scrap gold is of all the same colour gold, whatever the karat,
it can be melted, weighed directly in front of you and placed immediately
in your order envelope. Use of old gold will somewhat reduce
the total cost of your order, making a very special item of fine
jewellery more affordable. The newly designed, finished piece
will be stamped with Pepe & Maureen Ltd's trade mark.
However, if it is a mixture of karats and its precise karat quality
unknown, a quality mark cannot be applied. If any customer
wishes a quality mark, the melted gold must be sent for testing
at a refiner's minimum charge of $150.00 cnd. Once its precise
quality is determined, a quality mark can then be stamped.

USING
YOUR GEMSTONES: To redesign a piece of jewellery for your diamond or other precious stone,
a similar step-by-step process is involved. An appraisal detailing
the specifications of your stone (particularly, gemstones of
larger size) should be supplied to Pepe if possible. If not
available, Pepe will bring it to a certified appraiser in Toronto,
at a customer's charge of $25, to be sure of the stone's size,
quality and other characteristics….. before proceeding.
If the customer wishes to place a custom order, when the order
is completed, Pepe & Maureen Ltd. will provide the customer
with a new, certified appraisal of the finished piece AT
NO EXTRA CHARGE. |
| TECHNIQUES:
Handmade "Textile Techniques in Metal" have
been a popular style of Pepe & Maureen for many years.
Different twisted, multi-braided, woven and even macramé
patterns exhibit Pepe's special skills in hand made wire
work. Originally done in silver, now his experience &
expertise is applied to the creation of very elegant gold
or platinum jewellery…. especially, wedding rings! |

particular taste or budget. Hand made forged chains or
bracelets…forged bangles…'cuff' bracelets…
one-of-a-kind wax-carved cast rings or pendants (with
or without texture)…and much more. |

Any size or quality diamond or other gemstone is available
at Pepe & Maureen Ltd. From
reputable gem dealers, Pepe can find the gemstone
that satisfies any customer's design needs.
